BANGALORE, August 20: Legendary Indian off-spinner EAS Prasanna said he was excited to have joined the Indian Cricket League. Speaking to TOI, he explained: "ICL is another platform for aspiring cricketers. It gives youngsters more options to showcase their talents."
Prasanna added that the tussle between the BCCI and the ICL wasn't going to harm the game.
"I'm sure cricket is not going to be affected. Playing for the ICL is like driving on a highway. There are many ways to reach a destination and ICL is one of the ways. All cricketers cannot be accommodated into one team, in order to provide opportunities for everybody we need to have various platforms. ICL has come up with an idea and this is a good thing for Indian cricket," he said.
ICL has taken huge steps in the last few days, recruiting prominent names from across the world. "It takes time for any organisation to grow, you have to give it time for the success to show. I am sure ICL will touch great heights," Prasanna said.
He stated that art of spin bowling, once India's stronghold, is slowly getting lost. "My ideas and the ICL's plans match well. This will provide me an opportunity to churn out more spinners for the country. In recent years, there has been a scarcity of quality spinners. This will provide us a platform to revive the great art."
